Site Description: Drainage depression. Cattle grazing.
Geology: Gellibrand Marl.

Surface Soil

Ap0-10 cm Massive; pH 4.8; clear and smooth change to:

A1110-30 cmDark grey (2.5Y4/1) sporadic bleach (2.5Y7/1d); fine sandy loam; massive; very weak consistence moist; contains a few (<10%) medium (5-10 mm in size) charcoal fragments; pH 5.2; clear and smooth change to:

A1230-90 cmLight brownish grey (2.5Y6/2) with many distinct medium sized yellowish brown (10YR5/8) mottles and biological mixing; sandy loam (heavy); massive; firm consistence moist; contains a few (<10%) organic root linings; contains many prominent slickensides; fine sand found in cracks; pH 5.0; clear and irregular change to:
Subsoil

B2190-120+Greyish brown (2.5Y5/2) with many distinct medium sized yellowish brown (10YR5/8) mottles and biological mixing; medium clay (fine sandy); coarse polyhedral and lenticular structure; firm consistence moist; contains a few (10%) organic root linings; many prominent slickensides evident; pH 4.8.
