General Land Unit Description:
This land unit consists mainly of gently undulating basalt plains with some subtle rises to the north-east of Hamilton. The dominant soil types are Brown Sodosols, commonly with a ferric horizon in association with Bleached-Ferric Chromosols. There may be a few surface stones, particularly on the low rises and patches of gilgai microrelief. |
