An assessment of the Geological/Geomorphological Significance of Private Land in the Shire of Portland (1981) by N. Rosengren, J Mallen, T Shepherd.

Locality:

7121-355767. Seven kilometres north-east of Taralye.

Access:

Wright's Swamp Road.

Geology/Geomorphology:

Wright Swamp is a broad shallow basin of compound origin possible resulting from subsidence of underlying limestone and stream blocking by sand dunes. Alluvial aureoles are conspicuous on aerial photographs and indicate the former extent of this wetland. The wetland has been drained and largely cleared.

Because of the degree of disturbance that has taken place, no futher management statement is practical.
