Locality:

7221-536824. Six kilometres north-east of Heywood.

Access:

Princes Highway.

Geology/Geomorphology:

Sugarloaf Hill is a complex feature and consists of two partly coalesced craters breached on the south-eastern side. A small plug of basalt remains on the ridge between the craters.

Significance:

Regional. The volcanic plug complex illustrates an explosive phase of the Greenwald-Cobboboonee Basalt eruptions.

Management:

Quarrying of the site could be permitted as this would produce new exposures of the volcanic material.
