Geological heritage sites, including sites of geomorphological interest and volcanic heritage sites, are under regular revision by the Geological Society of Australia, especially in the assessment of significance and values. Reference should be made to the most recent reports. | Locality: | 7221-515585. One kilometre south-west of Maretimo Homestead. |
| Access: | Princes Highway. |
| Ownership: | Most of the feature is on Crown Land. |
Geology/Geomorphology:
| Westlakes have formed by basalt collapse into sinkholes developed in the underlying limestones of the Heytesbury Group. |
| Significance: | Regional. This is a clear example of the process of swamp development. |
| Management: | Grazing access to, and drainage of the swamp should be prohibited. |
