Surface Soil

A1	0-10 cm	Brown (7.5YR5/4); loamy light sand; weak to firm consistence (dry); slight dispersion after remoulding; very thin surface crust at 7.5 cm; no effervescence; pH 7; sharp change to:	ESAS10 Profile
A2	10-14 cm	Discontinuous layer; yellowish red (5YR5/6); sand; pH 7.4; sharp change to:
Subsoil
B1	10-20 cm	Yellowish red (5YR5/8); clay sand; weak very coarse prismatic structure, parting to weak to moderate very coarse to coarse blocky structure, parting weak very coarse prismatic structure; weak (moist) to strong (dry) consistence; strong dispersion after remoulding; roots to 80 cm; pH 8.2; clear change to:
B21	20-40 cm	Yellowish red (5YR5/6); sandy loam (clayey) increasing to sandy clay loam with depth; weak to moderate very coarse to coarse prismatic structure; strong dispersion after remoulding; pH 9.4:
B22	40-55 cm	Red (2.5YR4/6) with brown (7.5YR5/4) mottles; sandy clay loam; weak to moderate very coarse prismatic structure; moderately calcareous; pH 9.7:
B23	55-60 cm	Yellowish red (5YR5/6); medium clay to medium heavy clay; strong coarse to medium subangular blocky structure; slightly calcareous; pH 9.8:

Key Profile Features:

Gradual increase in texture (i.e. clay %) with depth down the profile.
Large amounts of carbonate (lime) in deeper profile.
