Detailed Soil Surveys

    The only detailed soil survey in the region was for the then Rutherglen Research Station and it was carried out by T.J Poutsma and J.K.M Skene from the former Department of Agriculture and published in 1961. Other parts of the region have been mapped as Land Systems and provide less detailed soils information. More recent soil/landform survey mapping carried out by DPI is also available.
