This "Preliminary Report on the Soils of the Boort Irrigation and Water Supply District (WSD) and part of the West Loddon Water Supply District", completed in 1951, by J K M Skene of the former Department of Agriculture, identifies the general features of soils, topography and vegetation in the study areas of Boort-West Loddon.
