Geological heritage sites, including sites of geomorphological interest and volcanic heritage sites, are under regular revision by the Geological Society of Australia, especially in the assessment of significance and values. Location:Cleever Hill - 495450. Shire of Ballan. Valley of Werribee River near bridge on Bunding to Blakeville Road.

Access:
Bunding to Blakeville Road.

Ownership:
Crown land.

Site Description:
The Werribee River valley is incised into Ordovician sediments and lava flow remnants from Mount Hope and Blakeville North. The basalts are exposed near the picnic ground in road cuttings and river cliffs, and contrast in lithology and soil type with the underlying Ordovician sediments.

Significance:
Local. The outcrops are an example of the volcanoes of the Daylesford district and are typical of the valley flows of the Central Highlands.

Management:
Class 2. Continued management as a public reserve is appropriate.
