Site Description | A circular depression in the lava flow surface has well defined rocky margins. There is no overflow channel or inlet or outlet stream so the resulting swamp must be groundwater fed. |
Significance |
Local. The site is an unusually large depression and has not been extensively modified. It is a clear example of large scale initial topography on lava flow surfaces. |
| Management |
Class 2. The site is being maintained as an open intermittent wetland without filling or further drainage. |
