Site Description |
The Kororoit Creek Valley is deeply incised into the lava plains, with escarpments of strongly jointed basalt forming the upper valley slope. Fallen blocks from the escarpment have accumulated on the lower valley slopes an the valley floor is alleviated with a weakly incised channel carrying the average flow. Flood discharge is accommodated in a narrow alluvial floodplain. |
Significance |
Local. The site include the most deeply incised sector of the Kororoit Creek in the metropolitan area. |
Management |
Class 2. The valley should not be filled or artificially drained. |
