Sb10 - Small hanging valley, Sunbury

Site Description
A small stream forms a hanging valley where it crosses the edge of a lava flow (probably from Mt Holden). The valley formed between this flow and the base of Winilba Hill is swampy.

Significance
Local. The site is a clear example both of the development of drainage on lava flows and the early stages of dissection of a flow margin.

Management
Class 1. The site should be left intact without artificial filling or drainage. Farm rubbish deposited in the notch of the hanging valley should be removed.
