With appropriate irrigation duration, equivalent irrigation performance can be achieved for a range of inflow rates and soil types.
Efficient border-check irrigation requires:
- correctly designed, constructed and maintained channel structures:
- well laid out bays
- knowledge of the required depth of irrigation
- appropriate inflow rate and inflow duration
