2.2.2 - What is the shape of my farm/site?

Return to Main Menu | Return to Step 2 | Return to Step 2.2 | Next Step

The shape of the selected site and fixed physical fixtures like houses may prevent the selection of some irrigation systems. Centre pivot and linear move irrigation systems are more sensitive to spatial features than border-check irrigation layouts. Centre pivots require circular or part-circle shaped sites; lateral move systems are suited to rectangular sites. The shape of a site is less critical in border-check layout design.
