2.2.5 - How undulating is my land?

Return to Main Menu | Return to Step 2 | Return to Step 2.2 | Next Step

The topography of the site is likely to play a role in determining the best irrigation option. Topography will influence the bay size and slope and the amount of earthmoving required for border-check irrigation. Centre pivots, however, can irrigate significantly undulating land, with perhaps minor earthworks needed to provide drainage for rainfall events. See Step 4.2.1.3.

In some situations where significant cut and fill would be required for border-check irrigation, a centre pivot system could be less expensive.
