A Review of Gully Erosion and its Control

The following document, published in 1971, is reproduced as an adjunct to the main web article. The contents include preconditions to gully erosion following European settlement, the mechanisms of gully initiation, a review of control techniques, a discussion of erosion rates and the distribution of gullies and a map of gullying in west-central Victoria. The appropriate management of resources to manage the problem is also discussed.
