This map of the potential distribution of Bathurst burr has produced from CLIMATE® modelling, overlayed with:

Pasture irrigated and dryland
Broadacre cropping
Horticulture

Broad vegetation types:
Grasslands; plains grassy woodlands; valley grassy forests; riverine grassy woodlands; riparian forests; wimmera mallee/woodland; lowland forest; and swamp scrub.

Colours indicate possibility of Xanthium spinosum infesting these areas.
Red = Very High
Orange = High
Light Green = Medium
Dark Green = Likely
In the non-coloured areas the plant is unlikely to establish as the climate, soil or landuse is not presently suitable.
