Scientific Name:Mimulus prostratus


Status:


Native to South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.


Plant Description:


Prostrate annual or perennial herb; younger stems hairy, rooting at the nodes and forming mats. The leaves 2-6 mm long, obovate to elliptic with an acute apex, a rounded base and non-stalked. Flowers arise singly from the leaf axils and stalked. Flowers are blue or pink with a yellow tube 6-15 mm long and a yellow centre.


Habitat:


Grows on damp saline land in northern and north-west Victoria.

Comments:


Similar to the non-hairy Creeping Monkey-Flower (Mimulus repens).
