Habitat:

Wet gullies, creekbanks and the perimeter of rainforests in the humid tropics, occurring as a weed along roadsides and in newly sown or run-down pastures (Parsons & Cuthbertson 2001). On Réunion Island, found in lowland rainforest, mountain and submountain rainforest from sea level to 1700 m (Baret et al 2004). Sunny slopes, mixed forests in valleys, boggy thickets, roadsides, rock crevices, 500-2000 m. (Zheng-yi & Raven eds 2003).
