Scientific name:Carthamus glaucus M. Bieb.

Common Name:
glaucus star thistle

Habitat:
In Israel, found in terra rossa and basalt soils in areas with annual rainfall between 400 – 600 mm. Elevations to 300 m. Found in open sites and lower foothills (Youchan et al 2000). In West Asia and North Africa, found in chickpea crops (Solh & Pala 1990).
