Common Name:

Madeira winter cherry, Jerusalem cherry

Habitat:

The plant has been documented to invade damp sclerophyll forest, riparian vegetation and warm temperate forests (Carr et al, 1992). The species is most invasive in moister conditions (Aliero et al, 2006a) but may have the capacity to establish in drier woodland environments. It has also been found to occur around forest edges (Weber, 2003). It is also known to establish in hedges, plantations and remnant forests (Roy et al, 1998).
