Habitat: | Humid or subhumid warm-temperate regions, growing mainly on clay or loam soils in areas of moderate rainfall (Parsons and Cuthbertson 1992). It persists as a weed on old homestead sites and other plantings from where it spreads to surrounding areas, particularly along gullies (Parsons and Cuthbertson 1992). It can withstand harsh urban environments better than most plants (Parsons and Cuthbertson 1992). Tree of heaven invades dry sclerophyll forest and woodland and riparian vegetation (Carr et al 1992). |
