1. White Rock Quarry - Coopers Creek

Geological heritage sites, including sites of geomorphological interest and volcanic heritage sites, are under regular revision by the Geological Society of Australia, especially in the assessment of significance and values. Reference should be made to the most recent reports. Geology/Geomorphology:
This small, abandoned quarry exposes two tilted megaclasts of limestone enclosed in structureless siltstone of the Boola Formation.

Significance:
Regional. This is one of several limestone lenses occurring in the Boola Formation. It is the largest occurring in the Coopers Creek area and has recently been stratigraphically re-defined.

Management:
The quarry is almost totally overgrown by blackberries and, consequently, exposures are poor. The value of the site would be greatly enhanced by removal of the obscuring vegetation.
