Soils

This mapping unit occurs in areas of slightly impeded drainage or on very gently undulating rises. The surface soils are dark greyish brown clay loams grading into yellowish brown clay loams or light clays at about 30 cm. There are variable quantities of small ironstone concretions, characteristically 2 to 5 mm in diameter. With depth, generally from about 70 cm, the soils become mottled yellowish brown, brownish yellow and brownish red light to medium clays. Minor areas of the Warragul mapping unit may also occur with this unit.
