Kalkee Association Unit 2

In general, this soil association is similar to the Kalkee association - unit 1. The main distinction, however, concerns the complexity pattern between the Self-mulching, Grey Vertosols and the Self-mulching, Brown (& Red) Vertosols, as components of the same mapping unit. Unlike the Kalkee association - unit 1, the present unit is a complex encompassing 10 - 40% (by area) of Self –mulching, Brown (& Red) Vertosols intermingled with the matrix soil types. Sites LP92, LP93 and LP95 are examples of Brown Vertosols from the Gooroc area.

The principle landform related to the Kalkee association - unit 2, is the gently undulating plains. Other landforms include the moderately undulating plains, the river flood plains and the drainage lines.
