Lower Outwash Slopes

This unit is associated with hilly and mountainous terrain and encompasses the intermediate and gentle slopes forming the outer perimeter of the hillwash fan. In total, the unit represents 27 600 hectares, occurring mainly at the eastern boundaries of the survey.

The main soils included in this unit have been mapped in the Charlton and Glenorchy associations.
