Morton Association

Although found in several localities throughout the northern section of the survey, the overall extent of this soil association is relatively limited. It is confined, mainly, to the drainage lines landform unit and localised areas of the gently undulating plains. The unit consists principally of Epipedal, Vertosols with bleached subsurface horizons, and includes small areas of Calcic, Red Sodosols.

Soil Site WP1 is an example of a Brown Vertosol in the Morton Plains area south of Birchip.
