0 - 20 cmBrown (7.5YR4/4m) fine sandy clay loam; firm; weak medium sub-angular blocky structure; earthy fabric; slightly hard (dry), friable (moist), non-plastic and slightly sticky (wet); gradual boundary to:

20 - 38 cmAs above but; brown (7.5YR5/4m), sporadically bleached reddish yellow (7.5YR7/6d) fine sandy clay loam 'gritty'; light amounts of quartz fragments and ferruginous concretions; clear boundary to:

38 - 60 cmAs above but; sporadically bleached pink (7.5YR7/4d) very fine sandy clay loam; stones are absent; clear boundary to:

60 - 80 cmAs above but; brown (7.5YR4/4m) sporadically bleached pinkish grey (7.5YR7/2d); light amounts of quartz fragments and ferruginous concretions; clear boundary to:

80 - 130 cmAs above but; dark yellowish brown (10YR3/4m); hard (dry), moderately friable (moist); stones are absent; clear boundary to:
