Upper Outwash Slopes

The upper outwash slopes cover 17 700 hectares located in hilly and mountainous terrain. This unit is associated with the lower outwash slopes landscape and concerns the steep and moderate slopes forming the upper parts of the hillwash fans. Due to the scale of mapping, however, some spurs and crests of isolated hills may be found in this unit.

The main soils included in this unit have been mapped in the Kanya and Glenorchy associations.
