Management Considerations:

Sodic and strongly dispersive subsoil is likely to restrict root and water movement down the profile.

Mallee cleared 1890.

Continuously cropped with grains (barley, oats, wheat) and legumes (peas, faba beans).

Crops ripen earlier than in other areas.

Direct drilling used as cultivation method.

Super phosphate, gypsum (with ripping) and nitrogen applied.
