A2

10-30

B21k

30–60

Yellowish red (5YR5/6); light medium clay, fine sandy; moderate to strong fine subangular blocky structure; rough and smooth ped-fabric; firm consistence when slightly moist; highly calcareous; common (patchy) calcareous soft segregation's; pH 9.5; clear boundary to:

B22k

60–75

Reddish yellow (7.5YR6/6); light medium clay; fine sandy; moderate to strong medium, parting to fine subangular blocky structure; rough and smooth ped-fabric; weak consistence when slightly moist; highly calcareous; many calcareous soft segregation's; pH 9.5; clear boundary to:

B23k

75–140+

Reddish yellow (7.5YR6/6); medium clay, fine sandy; moderate to strong fine subangular blocky structure; rough and smooth ped-fabric; weak consistence when slightly moist; highly calcareous; many calcareous soft segregation's; pH 9.5.:
Management considerations
  • High susceptibility to wind erosion
  • Alkaline subsoils with calcareous soft segregations, manganese coatings (Mangans)
  • Minor subsoil constraint >65 cm as mottling and soil colour indicates slightly imperfect drainage
  • Lighter surface soil with strong fine structure with weak resistance to breaking down makes it vulnerable to wind erosion without stubble and trash retention
  • Poorer structure and increased dispersibility in the subsoil
  • Landform element, duneslope; moderate to well-drained site drainage
