Light yellowish brown (105YR6/4); bleached (7.5YR7/2d); fine sand; single grain (structureless); sandy ped-fabric; pH 7.9; sharp boundary to:

B2

Strong brown (7.5YR5/6) with common medium (2.5YR4/6) mottles; sandy clay; very strong consistence, dry ; pH 6.8.

Management Considerations

  • Strong texture contrast profile, sodic subsoil, probably strongly sodic at depth.
  • Occasional subsurface horizon, leached (bleached) with restrictive interface with subsoil.
  • Neutral surface soil and upper subsoil, alkaline subsurface soil.
  • Subsoil is sodic and very highly dispersive. Limited (preferably no) exposure necessary to remain stable.
  • Landscape position as footslope; exposure will accelerate rill/gully erosion in susceptible areas( depressions /drainage lines).
