B24

110–150

Light olive brown (10YR5/3); light clay; strong coarse to very coarse prismatic, parting to moderate very coarse to coarse angular blocky structure; smooth ped fabric; strong consistence, moderately moist; contains very few coarse calcareous soft segregations; many prominent clay skins and slickensides evident; few very fine roots present; pH 9.1.

Management Considerations:

  • Cracking clay soil.
  • Alkaline subsoil.
  • Friable (self mulching) surface soil but coarser structured subsurface soil, possible compaction.
  • Alkaline subsoil, calcareous and strongly sodic in subsoil.
  • Boron levels higher in subsoil.
