Status:

Native to South Australia, New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria.

Plant Description:

Shrub to 1.5 m with erect rusty or grey coloured and hairy stems. Leaves ovate to circular or obovate, 1-5-3.5 cm long and 10-27 mm wide with a rounded apex. Upper leaf surface more or less hairless, under surface short matted hairy.

Flowers single or in clusters, on short stalks to 5 mm long. Flowers white with four spreading petals, 10-15 mm long and with red anthers. Fruit 5-7 mm long, green.

Habitat:

Common species of coastal habitats. Shows wind-pruned form in exposed positions.

Comments:

Unusual for a Correa in lacking a tubular flower. Increasingly used as a drought tolerant species for gardens, parks and medium strips.
