Status:

Native to Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and South Australia.

Plant Description:

Weak, perennial herb to 20 cm tall with a taproot and adventitious roots (arising from the stem). New plantlets form from the base. The rather thick and softly hairy leaves are mostly basal and oblanceolate (backyard pointing spear-shaped) or linear (narrow and thin), 4-10 cm long and 4-8 mm wide, with toothed or entire margins.

Flowers on slightly zig-zag stems, bright yellow, 2-lipped; the upper with 2 lobes and the lower with 3. Fruit is ovoid in shape, 3-3.5 mm long and contain yellowish-brown seed.

Habitat:

Open woodlands and grasslands in damp soils. Usually indicative of fresh-water environments.
