River Flood Plains

This landform unit consists mainly of the river flats and often includes river frontages. In some locations, a river front may continue as only an ill-defined marshy course. Also, some parts of these plains may include former stream courses. The total area of this unit is about 99 200 hectares and apart from the north-western section, it is distributed throughout the survey.
